Our commitment
A dermatology practice is not much use to someone who cannot get through the front door, and the same is true of its website. We are committed to making this site usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, magnification, keyboard navigation, voice control, or captions.
We treat this as part of the job, not as a project with an end date.
The standard we build to
We build and test this website against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1, Level AA. That is the internationally recognized standard, and it is the one referenced by United States accessibility regulations for health care.
In practice, working to that standard means:
- Every image that carries meaning has a text description a screen reader can announce
- Every page can be operated with a keyboard alone, in a sensible order, with a visible focus
indicator
- Text and its background have enough contrast to be read in real conditions
- Headings are used in a real order, so a screen reader can navigate the page by structure instead
of reading it top to bottom
- Forms have labels that are announced, and errors are described in words rather than by color
- The site works when text is enlarged, and it reflows rather than breaking
- Nothing flashes in a way that could trigger a seizure
- Video and audio content carries captions or a transcript
Where we are
We assess this site regularly, using automated testing and manual checks with a keyboard and a screen reader. Automated tools catch some problems. They do not catch all of them, which is why we also test by hand.
We believe this site substantially conforms to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We say substantially rather than fully because a website changes continually, and because some content comes from outside sources we do not build ourselves.
Known limitations:
- Third-party content. Embedded maps, video players, our gift card store, and similar tools are
built by other companies. We choose accessible options where we can and we raise problems with those companies, but we do not control their code.
- Older documents. Some patient forms and archived files were produced before our current
standard. If you need any document on this site in an accessible format, call us and we will provide it.
- Photography. Our before and after galleries are visual by nature. Each image carries a text
description of what it shows.
We fix what we find. When we cannot fix something quickly, we provide another way to get the same information or complete the same task.

It helps us if you can tell us the page you were on, what you were trying to do, and what got in the way, including the browser or assistive technology you use. Any detail you can give is useful, and none of it is required.
We aim to respond within two to three business days. If your message is about booking an appointment or reaching a provider, say so and we will handle that first, by phone, while we work on the website problem separately.
You never have to use the website
Everything on this site can be done by phone. Appointments, questions, forms, directions, and records requests are all available by calling either office during phone hours. If it is easier for you to have someone read information to you or fill out a form with you, say so when you call and we will do that.
